Custom Flying Model Rocket Kit PONG  CRC 10043

The ninth galaxy is protected by a fleet of these craft. Protectors Of Ninth Galaxy or P.O.N.G for short, is well detailed. You might say it's over detailed. It uses mid-body separation and flies under mini-engine power. Recovery is by streamer and it will fly over 500 feet. Another unique feature is that it uses a ping pong ball for the nose cone. Add this one to your collection if you want something different.

    Interesting Sci-Fi inspired rocket.

Posted by Timothy Mauk on 11th Dec 2016

    Pro's:
Good instructions, lots of stick on decals aid in a good finish, inexpensive flights on A3-4 motors. Challenging enough to keep one's interest. Great addition to your Sci-Fi starfleet.
    Con's:
No real motor retention (tape) - I recommend putting an engine hook on it when you build it.
Decals want to peel off over time. The small steamer recovery means you might be gluing some small parts back on after recovery. No room for parachute or larger streamer in small BT-5 tube.

Mine flies well on the Estes A3-4T motor.

PONG novelty rocket has visual appeal!

Posted by Kirk Groeneveld on 1st Dec 2013

This level 3 rocket features extremely lightweight construction, including several shaped paper cones that require some care. There's also a lot of self-adhesive decals that may start to peal off curved surfaces after a week. But the detail and design are a real eye-catcher... and the novelty of a ping pong ball at the head will recall 2001:A Space Odyssey's Jupiter craft. This streamer-recovery unit has a tendency to break off fins IF YOU DON'T USE A STRONG ENOUGH MOTOR. All recommended motors will send it high enough to deploy correctly. This rocket looks great on your mantel, a sure conversation starter!
