Sky Flying Model Rocket Kit Dynamo 7153
Dynamo Model Rocket Kit
This is a perfect rocket for launching insects into the air! It is the first and only rocket in the world that features an injection-molded see-through plastic payload bay! The rocket assembles in about twenty minutes thanks to its pre-decorated body tube, colorful plastic nose cone and fin unit. A great first rocket for kids of all ages!
Apogee Components is pleased to import this model rocket kit from Shaanxi Zhongtian Rocket Technologies Co., Ltd, which is based in central China. They go by the name of "Sky" model rockets.
The quality of the kit is comparable to those made by other manufacturers. I'm impressed by the quality of the plastic parts, such as the injection molded fins, and the blow molded nose cone. The tubes are all convolutedly wound, which is different from the traditional spiral-wound tubes made by other manufacturers. Other than that, about the only difference is that the engine mount is ever so slightly larger due to a small difference between the rocket motors flown by Chinese modelers versus the standard 18mm diameter motors flown here in the USA. But 18mm diameter motors work just fine in this kit; no modifications are needed. If you like the Sky Dynamo kit, be sure to check out the other kits made by the "Sky" rocket company.

See-through Payload Bay. This is the first kit I've ever seen where the see-through payload bay is made from injection molded plastic. Usually they are just cheap clear tubes. But this one has the bulkhead and parachute attachment point molded into the part. That makes it stronger than any other payload compartment around. Even though it costs a lot more to make an injection molded part, because is comes out of China, this kit is very reasonably priced. The size of the payload bay is small, which is actually a nice feature. It is perfect for small bugs and other tiny critters.
Blow-Molded nose cone. This one-piece nose cone is built tough, and should stand up to many hard landings.
Easy-to-Follow Instructions. There are just seven simple steps for the modeler to accomplish to successfully assemble the rocket. While there is a tremendous sense of accomplishment felt by the child, the rocket is surprisingly very easy to put together. It can be done in as little as 20 minutes.
The large 18 inch diameter brightly-colored parachute that comes with the model makes it easy to see in the sky and when it lands on the ground. You'll feel a thrilling sense of accomplishment the first time you see that parachute blossom open in the sky. Watch the faces of the kids as they chase the rocket, and you'll see why rocketry is so much fun.
Elastic shock cord - Used to prevent the rocket from separating into multiple pieces.
Quick-release metal engine hook, that lets you swap out engines between flights in just seconds. The engine mount accepts the standard 18mm diameter rocket engines.
