Flis Kits Nanite
CURRENT NAR RECORD HOLDER!  The Nanite represents over a year of design, research and modification to bring you a micro sized slide-wing rocket glider that set the NAR 1/8A Rocket Glider record even before it was available for retail sale!  Setting new standards in the world of micro rocketry, the Nanite is a complex build, but not beyond any rocketeer with a lot of experience with Skill Level 2 kits and willing to take the time needed to really read and understand the instruction steps and then take the time to fabricate each part as described.  The biggest challenge will be working with such small parts on a rocket with moving sub-assemblies!
Shattering the previous NAR record for 1/8A rocket glide of 34 seconds with a stunning 49.38 seconds, the Nanite is poised to shatter even this high mark.  This record was set with an early proto type built and flown by 2007 National Champion Chan Stevens and, in Chan's own words, was built poorly (in large part due to lack of documentation provided for the build).  It is also important to note that in the time since that record was set, that same proto type has exceeded 60 seconds.  It is very likely that a well built and trimmed Nanite glider could shatter the 90 second mark!  Simply incredible!

FlisKits L-13
Scientist, inventor, visionary.  The 3 words that best describe Robert Hutchings Goddard.
From 1936 - 1939 Goddard began work on the K and L series of rockets.  These rockets were much larger than his previous attempts and they were plagued with failures.  The main problem was overheating and burn through of the engine.  Several attempts were made to solve this problem, including running the liquid oxygen around the outside of the combustion chamber, but this was ruled as too complex.  In the end, he downsized his efforts and worked on lightening the rocket to help attain higher altitudes.  The L-13 rocket was the king of this effort reaching an altitude of 2700 meters on March 26th, 1937 with a burn time of 22.3 seconds.

This 1:5.5 sport scale model of Goddard's L-13 rocket is a fairly easy build and will provide you with a very nice looking reproduction of this most famous rocket.  Turning in outstanding flights on all motors, the L-13 is a must for scale enthusiast as well as history buffs and those who just want a very cool rocket to show off at their next launch

FlisKits Frick-n-Frack
The Frick-n-Frack is a marvel of rocketry engineering!
Designed to look like a rather common 6-sided flying saucer on the pad, the Frick-n-Frack will surprise all of your rocketry friends when she stages 40-50 feet in the air, dropping the lower stage and half of her stabilizing plates and the sustainer continues on her low flight to altitudes near 100 feet!

The perfect small field and demo 2-stage rocket!  Your audience and actually witness the staging event as it occurs close to the ground even with the largest motors!

Featuring SIX large sheets of precision laser cut parts, including assembly jigs and highly detailed instructions, the Frick-n-Frack is an easy build that will give you
outstanding performance and wow the most jaded rocketeer!
LOW WIND LAUNCHES!  Just be sure to launch your Frick-n-Frack in very low winds.   Saucer rockets have a tendency to weather-cock (turn into the wind) a great deal and multi-stage saucers are even MORE prone to do this.  Always launch your Frick-n-Frack in dead calm and always pointed STRAIGHT up.

FlisKits Tumbleweed
Tumble recovery model rocket kit, reminiscent of rockets of old. patterned as a reduced semi-scale version of a model rocket from the 60's, the Tumbleweed brings back the excitement, fun and education of a tumble recovery model

The Tumbleweed flies straight and true, for one half of its flight.  At peak altitude, the motors ejection charge (normally reserved for pushing out the nose cone and a recovery device) is instead used to kick the motor back, into such a position that it makes the model unstable.   In this unstable state, the model tumbles harmlessly to the ground, ready for another flight!  A supplied engine hook holds the motor in place and prevents it from being kicked all the way out of the model.  A large ring, at the base of the model, provides additional stability and strength.   Accustom to rough landings, this model still needs to be built rugged to withstand repeated launchings and landing.

FlisKits Rose-a-Roc
From the mind of Art Rose comes the helicopter duration design that has stood the test of time, the Rose-A-Roc!
Boosting on a wide variety of motors, the Rose-A-Roc leaps into the air, gaining surprising altitude.  At apogee, the ejection charge burns away a hold-down string that releases 3 large, impressive helicopter blades.  Designed for a self-induced spin, you will see her hang in the air for a moment then begin to drop.  Suddenly, the blades will begin to spin and pick up speed to the point where you can't even see them!  Riding a cushion of air as she descends, the Rose-A-Roc floats gently to the ground, to the delight of all.

Recreated here with Art Rose's permission, and re-engineered for a simpler and more precise build, the FlisKits Rose-A-Roc is a high end competition model that is now available to all modelers who have the skill and desire to compete with the "big boys"!

This FlisKits is not beyond the capabilities of any accomplished modeler who is willing to take their time constructing this model

FlisKits Nell
"It has often proved true that the dream of yesterday is the hope of today, and the reality of tomorrow"  From Robert Goddard's valedictorian speech in 1904
This scale model of the worlds first successful liquid fueled rocket was designed, built and flown by Robert H. Goddard on March 16th, 1926 in Auburn, MA.  You are looking at a model of the most historically significant rocket ever flown!

From Goddard's diary the next day: “The first flight with a rocket using liquid propellants was made yesterday at Aunt Effie’s farm in Auburn. It looked almost magical as it rose... Some of the surprising things were the absence of smoke, the lack of a very loud roar, and smallness of the flame.”

We have seen rockets bring the communications revolution to the world.  We now forecast weather with greater accuracy than ever before.  We've seen the surface of Mars, the clouds of Jupiter and the moons of Neptune.  We've landed man on the moon have have lived in space for months at a time!  All thanks to the vision of a man thought by many to be foolish if not downright crazy.

Due to customer feedback and the desire to keep the OverDrive as a good choice as a Skill Level 1 (beginners) rocket, we have upgraded this kit to include laser cut fins.  While we maintain that there is a desire and need to teach even beginner model rocketeers how to work with the tools needed to cut and shape balsa, we agree that this particular kit, with 8 different fins, is too complicated to be a beginner kit if you have to cut and shape that many fins.  The precision laser cut fins should make this kit an absolute dream to build and fly.  The Overdrive makes a great first or second rocket for your new and growing fleet of model rockets!

Sporting a fighter aircraft profile and sharp looking forward swept fins, the Overdrive will sail nearly out of site on the A10-3T motor!

The MAKO model rocket kit is a Faux-Scale of an Air-to-Air missile that features water slide decals and 24mm power.  Sporting a unique look, the MAKO offers some new building techniques (those fin scoops (ram scoops?) don't construct themselves...) and challenges but is not that complex a build.  The result is a very sharp looking model that wouldn't cause a second glance hanging beneath the wing of a fighter jet.

24mm power gives you a wide range of motor choices from C to E power so that this model is perfect for small fields and can make the most out of larger fields too.

During construction you will have to form and attach the two-part fin scoops (4 of them) as well
as cutting out your own fins (simple trapezoids) and forming a paper shroud.  The beauty of Faux-Scale is that you are free to embellish this model to any extent you desire!  Let your imagination run wild with color scheme, decal placement and surface details (doo-dads and such).  It isn't "scale", so you can't be "wrong".  How cool is that!?  Let the MAKO reign supreme in your fleet today!

Model rocketry is a safe, educational and fun hobby for all ages of the family.  Building model rockes is recommended for ages 7 and up with adult supervision for those under 10. Unless otherwise specified, all models require assembly. Tools, construction and finishing supplies are sold separately. In order to launch, a launch system, model rocket engines, igniters and recovery wadding are required.Always follow the safety code when flying rockets.
Flis Kits Bulls Eye
The Bull's Eye is anything BUT simple looking!  NINE fins, large tail ring, fat and stubby.  This model hits the mark as a sharp looking model but is STILL a breeze to assemble!

You get a LOT of rocket for the price!  Large diameter (2.217") with laser cut fins, a large tail ring and a decorative logo sticker!

The key to the easy assembly is that the flat bottom fins and tail ring are all situated such that they are flat (even) with the bottom of the main body tube.  Therefore, you can stand the model up on the assembly jig (provided) and all of the parts just slide up to the model and will stand on their own as the glue dries.  The assembly jig even eliminates the need for marking off fin locations and drawing lines on the tube.

Flis Kits Lil Guy
Lil' Guy gets its name because it IS just that, a "little guy".  Featuring a stunted look as a part of her charm, and streamer recovery for small field use, the Lil' Guy is a great little rocket and a great transition rocket after you've built a few Skill Level 1 kits and are thinking of moving on to more complex Skill Level 2 kits.

The Lil' Guy requires you to cut your own fins, sand them to shape and attach them without any fin guide as an aid.  It sounds tough, but it really isn't.  However, it is a necessary skill for many of the more complex kits.  The Lil' Guy allows you to explore these challenges in a much simpler kit.

Furthermore, the kit includes TWO fin patterns for you to choose from.  The first (classic) has soft curves, as can be seen in the image at left.  An alternate, much simpler fin pattern is provided if this is going to be your first attempt at cutting fins.  The simple parallelogram offers a simple 4 sided shape with all straight edges that can easily be cut with the aid of a straight edge, like a ruler.

Flis Kits Mystic
From the mysterious race from deep within the Horse Head nebula comes their newest ship, the troop carrier Mystic!

Responsible for ships such as the Shrox Alien8 and the Decim8, this xenophobic race of aliens have held their hostilities at bay, for the most part.  The tension between the United Solar Planetary Federation and the Tarnk-naks came to a head when they decimated the Deven-3 outpost.

Their saving grace was that they safely removed all of the personnel on that base before the destruction began.  After months of negotiations and hyper-tac diplomacy, our people were returned to the USPF aboard this newest ship..

Flis Kits Proxima Centuri
Proxima Centauri kit is designed to represent the first ever ship to explore beyond our solar system.  Her mission is to travel to our nearest neighbor, Proxima Centauri, and to see if there are any habitable planets there.

The "history" part?  Well, the story behind this ship and this mission is that it all took place in the PAST for the current members of the United Solar Planetary Federation, as depicted in so many of our other futuristic kits (check'em out, there's an exciting back-story to many of them in the universe of the USPF).

This historic mission is being celebrated on the 200th anniversary of her launch from earth orbit with a crew of 83 officers, scientist and other crew.

Flis Kits USS Grisome
The U.S.S. Grissom is the pride of the FlisKits fleet of model rockets! At 30.6” tall, it is the tallest mini-engine powered bird in our fleet, but that’s only the start. Unlike other models that have employed ducted ejection gasses, the U.S.S. Grissom has the narrowest profile of them all, giving it one of the most graceful appearances in model rocketry today. The inclusion of solar panels and it’s impressive length to diameter ratio makes this one of the most stable model rockets you’ll ever fly. Add to that a highly detailed set of water slide decals and you have a model that will stand out from all the rest!

The U.S.S. Grissom is a complex model to construct, but is not beyond even a novice modeler, as the assembly instructions allow for simplified construction, such as ellimination of the solar panels, reducing it’s skill level to 3.

Flis Kits Decim8
This is not a simple kit, by any means.  However if you follow the instructions and take your time, this kit is not beyond most any modeler.  And the incredible look of this model will have rocketeers anxious to see it fly.

Emerging from the depths of the Horse Head nebula, a product of the minds of the race of beings called the Tarnk-naks, this battle ship was first used against the United Solar Planetary Federation   when the Deven-3 military outpost was decimated in one quick attack by several of these ships.

The attack brought panic to the USPF but that was quickly quelled with the beginnings of peaceful relations with these xenophobic beings.  First introduced with the Alien8 ship that was discovered adrift 2 years earlier, our relationship with the Tarnk-nak Union has been tenuous at best.

Flis Kits Nomad
The Nomad is handsome 3 staged model rocket employing 24mm (C11, D12) first stage to help lift this large rocket off the pad with enough lift to assure safe altitude and speed for subsequent stages to take over.  The overall light weight of this model ensures incredible altitudes even with the smallest 3 stage configuration.

Use of the largest motors in all stages will provide out of sight flights even on clear days.  Be sure to have a 3 person tracking crew to follow all 3 stages back to earth!

The Nomad's 47.8" length allows the use of very small fins in the 2nd and 3rd stages so that you avoid the common problem of very massive fins in the 1st stage (a problem common in 3 stage models).

This helps keep drag down, promising greater altitude and also allows this model to be easily flown in 2 stage or even single stage configurations.

The unique configuration of this model provides for a transitioned 2nd stage (from BT60 to BT55) and is designed such that the 2nd and 3rd stage fins form a single fin, giving this model a "2-stage" appearance on the pad.

Streamer recovery of the upper stage, coupled with a shock line attached near the mid point of the model assures near field recovery in most situations.  This kit also comes with a bright FlisKits 16" parachute to use if you have a large launch field or hard landing areas.  Also, our 16" parachute has patterns on it to allow you to construct your parachute as a 12" or 8" instead, giving you a full range of choices!

Rounding out this champion is the inclusion of a Pop-Lug kit with full instructions.  The Pop-Lug allows you to launch your Cougar 660 on any conventional 1/8" launch pad  WITHOUT the drag penalty of carrying a launch lug on the rocket (up to a 15% savings in drag!). The Pop-Lug stays on the launch pad allowing the Cougar 660 to climb to incredible altitudes, unencumbered with added drag!
